Privacy, in plain steps

Your walking history stays on your iPhone. Kai Moves has no account system and does not upload your walks to our servers.

This describes the intended first release of Kai Moves, currently in preparation. The final app and its App Store privacy information must be checked together before launch.

What stays on your iPhone

Daily totals observed by the app, saved walks, route traces, route names, planned routes, goals, reminder preferences, calibration observations and manual adjustments are stored in the app’s local container. Kai Moves has no developer-operated application backend, advertising, analytics SDKs or automatic cloud synchronization.

Walking history, traces and identifying preferences are excluded from iCloud and device backups. There is no Kai Moves cloud recovery service. Deleting the app, erasing the phone or losing it can mean losing this information.

Permissions are tied to a purpose

Motion & Fitness access provides measured iPhone steps. Location access supports a walk you explicitly start recording and location-dependent planning. An active recording can use background location while the screen is locked; Kai Moves does not passively keep a history of everywhere you go. Notifications are optional and support the reminders you choose.

You can change permissions in iPhone Settings. Daily step counting does not require location or notification access, although Motion & Fitness permission and a supported sensor are needed for measured steps.

Apple Maps is a network boundary

Apple handles map tiles, map searches and walking directions. Map and directions requests can send the relevant locations and route coordinates to Apple. Moving waypoints and requesting a new route can make another request. The local walking archive and calibration model are not uploaded by Kai Moves.

Read Apple’s Maps privacy information for how Apple handles its services. New maps and directions may be unavailable without connectivity. Local history storage does not mean the entire app is offline.

Apple processes purchases

Pro is purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment details and transactions under its own terms and privacy practices. Kai Moves uses StoreKit transaction information to determine access and restore purchases; it does not collect your payment card information.

Your local controls

You can delete an individual saved walk or clear personal walking history from the app. Removing a walk also removes its calibration observations. The count of complimentary recordings is kept separately, so deleting a walk does not replenish the three-recording allowance. With fully local storage, erase, reinstall and device-change behavior cannot be guaranteed to enforce a permanent quota.

Daily history has limits

Apple’s pedometer makes the most recent seven days available for retrieval. Kai Moves can preserve totals it has already observed locally. If a day expires before the app captures it, that day is unavailable; the app should not imply a complete historical record.

This website

This static website has no advertising, analytics trackers, email signup service or contact-form backend. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP address and technical logs, to deliver and secure the site. Website hosting is separate from your local app history.

Questions and changes

For privacy questions, email support@kai-moves.com. If you contact support, the information you choose to send is handled through email providers to answer your request. The app does not automatically attach your walking history. This page will be updated if the app’s privacy behavior changes.
